CyberMaryland 2017: Media Recap

The 2017 CyberMaryland Conference, held on October 11-12 at the Baltimore Convention Center, attracted more than 90 speakers from across the U.S. and abroad. The two-day event showcased thought-leaders, including Maryland Governor Larry Hogan; U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen; Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh; NSA Deputy Director, George Barnes; U.S. Cyber Command Director of Corporate Partnerships and Technology, Capt. CyberMaryland Conference Opens 2016 Call for Speakers

Speaking proposals are now being accepted for the 2016 CyberMaryland Conference, held October 20 – 21 at the Hilton (Camden Yards) in Baltimore, Maryland.

The CyberMaryland Conference seeks leadership presenters with new ideas in the areas of cyber risk, education and workforce development, innovation and technology, information sharing and community development, threat intelligence, insider threats, government cyber opportunities and hacker adaptability. Case studies in cyber product integration, social applications, digital health and wireless technology security, big data analytics and intrusion software are highly valued. In addition to topics related to intrusion software, trends in anti-malware software and new data protection applications are sought.

Fifth annual conference, competition, job fair and Cyber Hall of Fame Dinner to be held during National Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October.

August 17, 2015 (Baltimore, MD) – During National Cybersecurity Awareness Month this October, Maryland will host CyberMaryland 2015, a multi-faceted conference, competition, job fair and awards celebration. The event, recognized as a catalyst for information sharing amongst public and private cyber professionals, showcases industry innovation, promotes cyber employment opportunities and recognizes cyber pioneers and next generation leaders.

Scheduled October 28 – 29 at the Baltimore Convention Center, CyberMaryland 2015 will connect innovators, educators, employers and students in cybersecurity and information technology. The event demonstrates the state’s leadership in the industry.

The fifth annual CyberMaryland Conference will include panels, speakers, exhibitors and new this year, the Cyber Shark Tank. During this event, select cybersecurity early-stage companies will pitch before investor “sharks” for venture capital dollars.

Stamos will be the keynote speaker at the Cyber Hall of Fame Dinner. Chief Information Security Officers from Legg Mason, T. Compete for Funding for your Cyber Startup at CyberMaryland 2015

CyberMaryland to host venture capital sessions to create funding opportunities for Early Stage and Emerging Growth Cyber Companies.

Annapolis, Maryland – The CyberMaryland Conference scheduled for October 28-29, 2015 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland will host two sessions focused on securing venture funding for startup and late stage cyber security companies.  The sessions will provide an opportunity for startups to connect directly with experienced cyber investors and will include two activities – the Cyber Shark Tank and the Cyber Investor Connection.

During the Cyber Shark Tank up to ten qualified early- stage companies will pitch before cyber investor “sharks” for cash prizes. Selected companies will present and receive feedback for 10-15 minutes from investors during a two-hour session on October 29th. To participate, companies must be in the seed or early stage, have an innovative cyber technology and a scalable business model. Judges will consist of venture capital and angel investors, bankers and serial entrepreneurs.

The Cyber Investor Connection, also scheduled for October 29th, will match growth-stage cyber companies with investors for one-on-one meetings. Participating investors will be interested in learning about innovative information security technologies and willing to provide, to select companies, opportunities to pitch before investment teams.

The Federal Business Council, Inc. has partnered with Pittsburgh-based PR Solutions LLC to develop the fifth annual CyberMaryland Conference agenda. The event, scheduled for October 28 – 29 at the Baltimore Convention Center, is a global gathering of cyber security entrepreneurs, investors, academics, students, enterprises and government officials. The conference, which has attracted thousands of attendees over the years, provides a unique opportunity for Maryland to demonstrate its natural leadership in the fields of information technology and cyber security.

“The security and protection of data have become a vital part of our lives,” said Michelle Jackson, CEO of PR Solutions. “New threats are rapidly emerging and innovative tools for protecting our information are hitting the marketplace daily.
